Burial, Death & Marriage Indexes

The City Archives maintains records and indexes from the Ross Bay Cemetery and the Victoria Daily Times. Searches for records from the Ross Bay Cemetery and for death and marriage notices are below.

Ross Bay Cemetery Burial Records Index

The information in this index comes from burial records for the Ross Bay Cemetery held by the Archives. The records date from 1872 to 1990. The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act restricts death information for 20 years following the death of an individual. For more information about this data, please see the Ross Bay Cemetery Burial Records guide.

You can view a plot map of Ross Bay Cemetery through the Archives’ Online Search to determine the location of a gravesite within the cemetery. The Ross Bay Cemetery layer in VicMap can also help to determine plot locations. The VicMap layer includes information about each gravesite (where possible). Photos and descriptions of select gravesites along tour routes are also available.
