The City of Victoria is investing in festivals and celebrations that strengthen community connections and contribute to a vibrant city, year-round.
The Festival Project Grant supports eligible non-profit organizations delivering community-led arts and cultural events that bring people together, showcase local talent and support local businesses.
Funding is available for eligible festivals and celebrations taking place in 2027. Review the program guidelines before applying.
How to Apply
Step 1: Read the Festival Project Grant Program Guidelines to confirm your organization, project and funding stream are eligible.
Step 2: Get Assistance
First-time applicants must contact staff to confirm eligibility and discuss their festival before applying.
Email ACollins@victoria.ca to schedule a meeting.
Optional Step: Submit a draft application at least 14 days before the deadline for staff review and feedback. This option is especially helpful for applicants with limited grant-writing experience.
Step 3: Complete the Application Form and Budget Template

Step 4: Email all required attachments to culture@victoria.ca by 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 1, 2026.
Hard copy applications will not be accepted.
All applicants will be notified about their application status by March 2027.

About the Program
Since 1999, the City has invested in annual festivals and celebrations that contribute to Victoria’s cultural life, community connections and local economy.
In 2026, the program funded 45 events and celebrations with $471,180 in grant funding.
The Zero Waste Event Guide and Zero Waste Service Providers Directory for Events provides event and festival organizers with the tools and resources needed to host sustainable events. These tools offer practical strategies to reduce waste and support environmentally responsible practices.
