The City offers childminding services during evening Council meetings to help more people take part in local government.
Drop off your children ages six months and older for two hours of child care so you can attend evening Council meetings! Program leaders offer a safe and fun space for children to play games, interact with one another and build crafts.
Things to Know:
Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Thursday evening of every month
parents can drop off their child(ren) for a maximum of two hours*
parents of special needs children should contact childminding staff in advance to assure that proper accommodations are available
parents must remain on site and immediately accessible at all times
childminding will take place in the City Hall Mezzanine Room (Mezzanine Floor)
limited spaces are available; service is drop-in and on a first-come, first-served basis
pre-registration is not required
there is no cost to participants
*The two-hour maximum is set by child care licensing regulations.

Yes, we will collect basic information about your child upon arrival and will need you to sign out your child before leaving with them. Please provide a mobile phone number so staff can contact you during the Council meeting if needed.
We can provide care for a maximum of two hours from the time you sign in your child.
1:2 for six–12 month-old children, 1:4 for one-to-three-year-old children and 1:8 for three to 12-year-old-children.

The City has procedures in place in case of natural disasters, first-aid emergencies and lost children. Staff will follow these procedures and connect with parents as soon as possible.
